Our mission is to deliver world-class computing education and drive innovation in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision for digital transformation.

We offer three cutting-edge undergraduate programmes: Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity. What sets us apart is our exceptional faculty—industry experts and researchers who bring real-world experience and the latest advancements into the classroom.

Students gain hands-on experience in AI, cybersecurity, game development, web programming, and data science using state-of-the-art labs and tools. Overview

The School of Computing, Coventry University Cairo Branch is offering Coventry University’s degrees in BSc (Hons) in Computing, BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, and BSc (Hons) in Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security.  We are a branch of Coventry University, which is the one of the largest Universities in the UK with more than 275,000 graduates all around the world. Coventry University has been awarded an overall rating of five stars by QS, achieving five stars in many categories, including, employability, facilities and teaching (QS Stars University Rankings). Coventry University was shortlisted for University of the Year for 2021 in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide and is among the top 30 in the world for international students (QS 2022).

Programmes of study that are offered at Coventry University Cairo Branch are the same ones running at the Coventry UK campus. This gives our students an exceptional opportunity to study for a semester or a year at the main campus in Coventry and/or continue their studies there. Upon successfully completing all course requirements, students will receive their final UK degrees from Coventry University.

In the School of Computing, we recognize the importance of developing a strong practical insight into the subject area of a degree, as well as a solid theoretical foundation. We achieve this through an activity led learning approach, where academic knowledge is taught to students concurrently with practical real-world examples addressing the students individually or in groups.

Through our programmes of study, our students acquire knowledge and develop practical and research & development skills that align with industry needs, they get prepared to become global citizens who are employable internationally and locally. Furthermore, we actively enhance our students’ soft skills by working on their leadership potential, and teaching them how to innovate, communicate, and become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Head of Engineering School

Stratis Andreas Kanarachos

I am the Head of School of Engineering at Coventry University branch in Egypt - The Knowledge Hub. I am a Professor in Engineering Dynamics, my expertise lies at the intersection of modeling and optimisation, sensor fusion, and artificial intelligence. I received my PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from the National Technical University of Athens in Greece. I have worked in the higher education sector in Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands, the UK and now in Egypt. I joined Coventry University in the UK in 2014, and the Coventry University branch in Egypt in 2019. In my career I have successfully completed more than 25 funded research projects and authored more than 150 publications in scientific journals and conferences. I was the course director of the JLR-TAS Course Professional Development programme at Coventry University and the Academic director of the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Automotive Research. I am a chartered Engineer and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.
