
Cairo, Egypt — In a significant step towards strengthening academic cooperation and fostering international collaboration in higher education and scientific research, TKH – Coventry University Cairo had the honour of hosting a high-level official delegation from the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, led by:

The delegation was received by Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, Chancellor of Coventry University, alongside university leadership and academic representatives.

We were deeply honored yesterday to welcome this high-level visit to Coventry University, led by the Prime Minister and an important ministerial delegation.
The delegation included senior leadership from Algeria’s economic and developmental sectors, among them: the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Maritime Fisheries, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Vocational Training and Professional Education, the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, Cities, and Territorial Development, and the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, in addition to the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the President of the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal.
This visit provided an opportunity to showcase TKH’s innovative learning environment and academic portfolio, as well as to highlight the Algerian State’s commitment to the advancement of higher education and scientific research as a foundation for national development. A direct and warm dialogue between the Prime Minister and Coventry University Cairo students further affirmed the central role of education in building future generations and driving progress.

During the campus tour, the delegation visited key academic facilities, laboratories, and teaching spaces, gaining insight into the UK degree programmes offered through Coventry University. Discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration in research, knowledge exchange, industrial training pathways, and skills development aligned with regional and international workforce needs.
Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy expressed pride in hosting such an important diplomatic and ministerial delegation, noting that this visit reflects a joint regional vision to expand academic partnerships, foster innovation, and build bridges between Egypt, Algeria, and the wider international landscape of higher education.
This visit marks a promising foundation for future collaboration in higher education, research, and capacity building between both nations.
