The School of Computing at Coventry University – Egypt Branch, hosted at The Knowledge Hub (TKH) Universities, ranks among the best 5% in the IEEEXtreme 18.0 International Programming Competition.
Talk about problem-solving intertwined with math and coding? Well, we’ve got for you IEEEXtreme 18.0 Hackathon, a 24-hour intensive competitive programming contest to design and code smart solutions to real-life challenges. Equipped with their coffees, notes, and laptops and proctored by Prof. Aziz Barbar and Assistant Lecturer Karim ElDebassy, 27 students grouped in 9 teams, all IEEE members and part of the IEEE – TKH Student branch, have participated in the competition by staying overnight on campus through the weekend.

All teams had their hard work paid off by finishing in the top 5% to 20% worldwide. Team AlgorithmicAvengers, composed of Bilal ElDeeb, Arwa Abo ElAmayem, and Noureldien Abdelsadek, and Team ApexCoders, composed of Jana Baraka, Ahmed Mohamed, and Noor ElHemaly, were ranked among the best 5% worldwide.
