Course Overview
The MSc Engineering Management is an advanced postgraduate programme designed to equip the next generation of engineering professionals with the strategic, operational, and technical management skills required in highly competitive international environments.
Offered by Coventry University Branch at The Knowledge Hub Universities, Cairo, this course takes a distinctive approach: rather than offering a single generic management pathway, it allows each student to select one of three career-focused Specialist Routes — Engineering Business Management, Operations Management, or Technology Management — tailoring their studies directly to their anticipated career path in organisations across a diverse range of sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, technology, energy, construction, consulting, and beyond.
The programme’s curriculum is underpinned by an Active, Social, Applied and Inclusive (ASIA) learning philosophy. Teaching draws on the industrial experience of academics who have worked directly in engineering companies and who understand the real challenges of engineering management.
Students engage in problem-based learning, computer simulations, case studies, and work-based scenarios, developing not only theoretical knowledge but the practical capability to apply it under complex and ambiguous real-world conditions.
Sustainability, ethics, and responsible management practice are embedded throughout every route, equipping graduates to contribute to wealth generation within a company while operating responsibly across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
This course has been developed using the QAA’s Framework for Higher Education in the UK, the Subject Benchmark Statements for Engineering (2023) and Business and Management (2023), and guidance from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Programme Structure
The programme comprises 180 credits at FHEQ Level Students complete two mandatory 30-credit Core modules (60 credits), before selecting a Specialist Route consisting of two additional 30-credit modules (60 credits) then an individual 60-credit Research Project. The programme is designed to be completed in two years on a part-time basis.

Entry Criteria
Admission Requirements:
- Prospective candidates applying to the MSc in Engineering Management program are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering-related field or Business Management studies, or its equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 2.7/4.0 or 3.5/5.0.
- Applicants with a relevant professional qualification of an equivalent level to the criteria may also be considered. This includes qualifications or courses offered by recognized professional institutions.
- Applicants with a Higher National Diploma along with 4 to 5 years of industrial experience are eligible to apply. (Applicable for UK graduates only)
- If the applicant doesn’t meet the minimum entry requirements, a mandatory 3 to 5 years of work experience will be required.
- The Bachelor’s Degree must be acquired from an accredited university.
Required Documents:
Postgraduate applicants applying to CU’s MSc programs should provide the following documents:
- A copy of their undergraduate certificate and transcript.
- Applicants who are using relevant professional experience as part of their entry criteria will also need to supply a detailed CV.
- Personal Statement.
- Letter of Recommendation from a current or previous employer/ Experience Letter.
- Proof of English proficiency.
English Requirements:
Students whose first language is not English must demonstrate one of the following proficiency tests:
- Academic, or UKVI IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 and no less than 5.5 in each band.
- TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT): An overall score of 79 is required and no less than 18 in each band for tests taken up to December 2025, or overall score of 4.5, minimum 4.5 in each component
- PTE Pearson: An overall score of 71 is required, with a minimum of 59 in each component.
- Duolingo: An overall score of 120 is required, with a minimum sub-score of 100 in each component.
Important Notes:
- Applicants who have obtained their Bachelor’s Degree from an English-speaking university (within the UK, States, Australia, or Canada) where all courses were conducted in English will be exempted from taking the IELTS test.
- Applicants who have obtained their Bachelor’s Degree from the CU Egypt branch will not be required to take any English proficiency tests.
- Applicants who have obtained their Bachelor’s degree from an English-speaking university in Egypt will have their cases referred to io@coventry.ac.uk to determine whether they are eligible for an English test exemption or required to take the test.
Admissions Process:
- To initiate the application process, all candidates must complete the TKH Online Application form and submit the specified documents.
- The Admissions team will evaluate the applicant’s file and forward it to the course director for further assessment.
- The course director or Head of School will arrange an interview appointment with the applicant.
- After conducting the interview, the course director will provide feedback to the Admissions team, who will then communicate the final decision of acceptance or rejection to the applicant.
- Accepted applicants will receive the Final Acceptance Letter from the Admissions team.

As a special incentive, we are pleased to offer an early intake discount of GBP 1,000, exclusively for the first Master’s cohort.
