We would like to congratulate our Board of Trustees member, Dr. Khaled El-Enany, on his honorary doctorate award (Docteur Honoris Causa) by Paul-Valéry University in Montpellier, France.
The honorary doctorate is a testament to Dr. El-Enany’s extensive efforts in education, research, cultural exchange, and Egyptian heritage preservation. His notable roles include serving as Egyptologist and Minister of Antiquities (2016-2019) and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities (2019-2022). During his tenure, Dr. El-Enany made significant strides in promoting Egypt’s rich archaeological legacy on the global stage.
Dr. El-Enany’s achievements extend beyond his ministerial roles, as he has been endorsed for the position of Director-General of UNESCO for the term 2025-2029. His candidacy reflects Egypt’s strong relationship with UNESCO, especially in matters of heritage preservation, and the support he has garnered from both Arab and African countries. Notably, his work with UNESCO dates back to his supervision of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, a project closely tied to the organization.
