NOVA University Lisbon students recently participated in a hands-on volunteering initiative with Lokmahaneya, an organization committed to providing meals for underprivileged communities across Egypt. Through this collaborative effort, students gained firsthand experience in meal preparation while learning important lessons about teamwork, community service, and social responsibility.
The initiative brought together NOVA faculty and students, including Dr. Nehal Afifi (SBE Program Director), Dr. Ehab Emam (IMS Program Director), and Dr. Ramy Ahmad (FCT – Physics Professor), creating a vibrant environment for collaboration and learning.
Organized by Dr. Amira Al-Basiony as part of NOVA’s Community-Based Education initiatives, the activity offered students meaningful experiential learning opportunities that bridge academic life with volunteering, civic engagement, and social impact.
NOVA University Lisbon extends its gratitude to Mr. Mohamed Hassan, Founder and CEO of Lokmahaneya, and his team for their warm welcome and support, providing guidance to our students throughout the activity.
This initiative reflects NOVA’s commitment to fostering socially responsible leaders who are actively engaged in making a positive difference in their communities.
