Mr Mark Bryson-Richardson MBE, UK Ambassador to Egypt, recently visited the Coventry University Cairo branch at The Knowledge Hub Universities (TKH), taking the opportunity to explore the campus, tour state-of-the-art educational facilities, and review a selection of student-led projects.

During his visit, Mr Bryson-Richardson engaged with students across different programmes, discussing their academic work, innovative projects, and experiences collaborating with industry partners. He praised the students’ dedication and the quality of their studies, noting the university’s strong connections to the professional sector.

“Today I was at Coventry University Cairo branch at TKH and I was impressed by the facilities and even more impressed by talking to students. I was inspired by their academic studies and industry connections. It is a fantastic example of transnational education.”

The visit also allowed the Ambassador to witness firsthand the learning environment at TKH, including its modern classrooms, laboratories, and collaborative spaces, all designed to provide students with practical, real-world experience. Faculty members highlighted how the branch’s curriculum, aligned with Coventry University’s UK standards, prepares graduates to meet both local and international industry needs.

Mr Bryson-Richardson’s visit coincided with the second day of the British Council’s regional Deep Dialogue on “The Role of Transnational Education in Advancing Higher Education Strategies in the Middle East and North Africa,” which brought together senior higher education leaders, policy makers, and practitioners from across the MENA region. TKH’s hosting of the day provided a platform for in-depth discussions on how transnational education can support national development priorities and strengthen higher education systems across the region.
