The official Inauguration of The Knowledge Hub Universities

Minister of Higher Education inaugurates “The Knowledge Hub Universities” and “Coventry University Branch” in NAC

Dr. Abdel-Ghaffar issues approval to start academic year according to presidential decree to establish “The Knowledge Hub Universities” and “Coventry University Branch” in Egypt

Cairo, Egypt, 22nd September 2019: In what can be perceived as a qualitative leap towards comprehensive development of the higher education system in Egypt, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated on Sunday the campus of “The Knowledge Hub Universities” established by El Sewedy Education at the New Administrative Capital (NAC). “The Knowledge Hub Universities” hosts Coventry University Branch”.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the University’s top management and academic staff, in addition to Chairman of El Sewedy Education, Engineer Ahmed El Sewedy, and Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University, Professor John Latham.

During his inspection tour of the campus, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar praised the quality of execution in establishing this educational edifice that offers modern ways of interactive student activities backed with well-equipped buildings and facilities.

The minister also stressed that Egypt is now witnessing unprecedented progress in higher education due to the establishment of new educational institutions in addition to the development of the already established entities. Moreover, the educational field in Egypt has become more welcoming of branches of international universities that bring the best educational curricula worldwide to Egyptian students.

On another related note, Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy stated: “Our main objective of establishing “The Knowledge Hub Universities” is to keep abreast of all the updates and advancements in the world of modern sciences, and provide unprecedented educational services in line with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030. Through such steps we will be capable of equipping the Egyptian students with the latest scientific skills that qualify them to compete in different labour markets and uphold the highest degree of excellence over the professional and scientific levels.”

Ministry of Higher Education was closely following up with the daily work details within the university campus and all its logistics. The Ministry has also overseen the preparations at the scientific laboratories, ensuring their conformity with the specifications and requirements of safety as well as the technical and international standards followed at the parent university.

Eng. El Sewedy elaborated that partnerships with international educational universities have become a necessity rather than an option, which has led El Sewedy Education to collaborate with Coventry University to be among the first to join “The Knowledge Hub”.El Sewedy explained that the choice of this university was made after meticulous study of myriad institutions with prominent track of scientific and academic achievement. Coventry University has proven to be the perfect fit for this collaboration as it was ranked among the best universities in the UK according the Guardian University Guide 2020.

Coventry University Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Latham CBE, said: “I am extremely pleased to welcome our new learners to The Knowledge Hub, where we are excited to be contributing the teaching expertise and innovative learning environment we’ve become known for around the world.

President of “The Knowledge Hub Universities”Professor Mahmoud Allam, stressed that the students will study the same curricula as those in the parent university, which will enable them to receive the same certification as the students abroad and even gives them the opportunity to study in the parent university campus. Professor Allam also added that the academic staff of Coventry University Branch have been chosen according to the standards and conditions of the parent university.

Finally, CEO of El Sewedy Education, Mr. Ihab Salama, seconded the statements by stressing that the students will receive top-notch educational services that will prepare them for a promising future.
