Coventry University branch’s School of Business at The Knowledge Hub Universities proudly hosted the CFA Research Challenge Kick-Off Meeting for the 2024/2025 season on Saturday, October 12th, 2024. The event, held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, marked the beginning of an exciting journey for participating students from 24 universities across Egypt who will showcase their financial expertise and compete for the prestigious CFA title.

The CFA Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with real-world experience in financial analysis and professional ethics. This year, TKH-Coventry Business students from various programmes, including business and finance, are set to participate and represent the institution in this highly competitive challenge.

The esteemed board members of the CFA Society Egypt gave insightful keynote speeches to the participating students. Throughout the event, students were briefed on the competition structure, key deadlines, and the expectations for their financial reports and presentations. The session featured insights from faculty advisors, industry professionals, and previous challenge participants who shared their experiences and offered valuable guidance.

The competition demands rigorous analysis of a publicly traded company, requiring participants to apply financial modeling, research, and analytical skills to develop a comprehensive report. The challenge encourages collaboration, teamwork, and the application of theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, preparing students for successful careers in finance.

Prof. Rasha El Gendi, Acting Head of the School of Business at TKH-Coventry, emphasized the importance of the challenge, stating: “The CFA Research Challenge not only sharpens our students’ technical abilities but also enhances their critical thinking and presentation skills—qualities essential for excelling in the financial industry.”

As TKH-Coventry students embark on this challenging journey, they are equipped with the knowledge and mentorship needed to succeed on both national and global stages. The event ended on a high note, with participants excited and motivated to begin their preparations.

Stay tuned for updates as TKH-Coventry teams compete and progress in the CFA Research Challenge, demonstrating their potential as future finance leaders.
